THE BIGGEST MURAL IN HOUSTON

In 2014 I partnered with Houston’s Mr.D and UP Art Studio to create “The Biggest Mural in Houston”, a project which stood for nearly a decade before being demolished. I helped lead the marketing, PR and fundraising efforts My role on the Biggest Mural, was as lead creative director for the marketing, PR, fundraising materials and more. The projects offical title “Preservons la creation,” which was a nod to the preservation of mural art, but at the time of the project launch the mural was destined to be destroyed within the year.

In order to drive as many eyes to the campaign as humanly possible, I pitched the most obnoxious name I could thing of, that also happened to be true, thus, The Biggest Mural in Houston was born. A name that spread like wildfire! The name drove all the press, some great, and some less than, but all press is good press. It ruffled a few feathers in the art community, but in the end, we launched with a massive unveiling that was one part experiential with a live fashion show and art auction.

ARTIST: MR. D

We personified the enemies of engine health and turned them into villains in a cinematic universe of sludge, heat, and chaos.

This multi-platform campaign educated drivers on engine wear through gamified storytelling, complete with comic book design, villain origin stories, and digital content. Big idea. Bigger execution.
